NATURAL HAIR TIPS
I feel like this is way over due lol , I’ve been meaning to write about natural hair and how to take care of it but lowkey got sidetracked but wait no longer Lmfaooooo Korlu is at the rescue π©π§πΎ♀️. K, going or being natural is not something you just wake up and decides to do , well nvm you kinda just decides to go natural lol nvm that’s far behind the point. What I mean is going or being natural takes PATIENCE, so if you don’t have it don’t waste your time . One question I get a lot is “is your hair hard to maintain?” No , no it’s not . I say no because you start to love it , and the results from it makes everything worth it . Anyway lol , let’s get do it , tips and such for natural hair or people who wants to start . 1. You can’t go natural with a perm , relaxer or etc , so the best thing to do is to CHOP IT OFF , and start fresh π. When I cut my hair and got rid of all the damages I was particularly almost bald lol but what I’d do is wash my hair every day and keep it moisturized. DO NOT EVER go to bed with your hair open , meaning before bed moisturize your hair again and braid or twist it , I feel as though this how you create or give your hair the chance to find it’s natural curl patterns . If you’re already natural but just needing some hair products I’d suggest that you buy some essential oils , oils are great for the hair , it locks the moisture in and helps keeps it from breakage and etc . Some of my favorite oils are : Jamaican castor-oil, peppermint oil, (heard wild growth is great but me personally don’t use it ) palm kernel oil , coconut oil , and olive oil. That’s just some of my favorite oils that I use to moisturize my hair daily. Secondly when going natural or is natural please try to limit the use of “natural products” majority of these so called natural products AREN’T natural at all , they do more damages to your hair , but some natural products that I do use are : kantu, and the garner whole blend . That’s actually all the products I use on my hair . Another thing is WATER , water is your bestfriend, your hair is like a plant , when there’s not enough water it goes dry , when you have way too much water the hair won’t be able to keep the protein in and locked, so that brings me to washing and co-washing the hair . When you wash your hair do not use shampoo well try not to use it regularly, use it like every 6 months or so , why ? Because most of these shampoo has A LOT of harmful chemicals that dries out the hair and it’s natural proteins. But, if you have a really good natural shampoo go ahead , but if not what you’d want to do is CO-WASH YOUR HAIR . Everyone hair is different, my hair texture is probably completely different from yours so you’d have to use your own common sense there to figure out when you need a wash or should I say co-wash . When co-washing you wash the hair completely with conditioner at first , to get all the dirt , buildups and etc out . Peppermint conditioner works best for me , after you’ve washed it and it is clean you have to detangle your hair . It’s best done in the shower honestly , section of your hair into how many parts you desire, add come conditioner to the part of the hair you’re detangling and detangle it. Some people uses a wide tooth comb but I think it’s better if you use your finger but whatever works bets for you . If you’re using the comb you’d comb through the hair you’ve added the conditioner just to get any knots out , once you’ve done that twist or braid the hair . Do that for all the sections until all the hair is twisted or braided . Don’t go to bed with hair soaking wet , wait let it air dry a little, add some oils to the hair and scalp , put a bonnet on or tie it with hair tie before going to sleep . Get a spry bottle , add some oils , water and a little conditioner to moisturize your hair the followin morning . Moisturize your hair daily until it’s time for another co wash .
